Jackpot on new songs

Sunday, November 9th, 2008 | just some music | No Comments

I’m not sure if you knew but I am picky with the songs that I listen too. I like both the melody of the music and also the lyrics. Sometimes if I don’t like the lyrics within a song, yet like the beat I would still listen to it. Sometimes I will just feel the lyrics drown out the decent beat and that is that I will not listen to it anymore.

Anyways, I have found a good list of songs that I can start updating with, but for right now I’ll leave just one.

President Obama…

Hopefully having the new president will at least bring a different experience than we have experienced for the last 8 years. To think before I started college was when George W. Bush became president and started to tear this country down.

Where is that song?

I am very picky as to what music I listen too. Everyone picks music based on what mood we are in. Sometimes you might want to the fast heavy songs, other times you want a easy listening slow song, and then there are just some in-between.

I always want to hear new music, yet going through 50-100 songs by different groups and I cannot find a song I want to listen too. Sometimes it is because of the lyrics or it is because of the song, or maybe just the way it was produced made it sound horrible.

The best place to find independent/non-radio songs that you probably have not heard of is elbo.ws. I can be on that till the wee hours of the night getting songs because you can never manage to understand just how many songs there are out there.

After going over the list of songs and picking around 25 of them, I’ve decided to post a couple and point out what it is about them that make them it.

The first one would just be for the people that can listen to a song without any lyrics. I didn’t find this off the elbo.ws, as it is the main theme for a movie I just recently watched “Sunshine”. I’ll post about that a little later. This song has something about it that makes you want to keep listening. The begining a little desolate without much sound but random noises…as the time ticks on though the violins kick in and start the build up. Then the piano, drums, cymbals come in not stopping the violins and keeps going and going and going. As with most music that doesn’t have lyrics you need to envision a senerio and just keep with how the song makes you feel. Sounds kind of dumb, but this type of music has been around longer than any of the music today. (Think classical music with Mozart, Bach, Chopin, etc…)

also there is this version with a guitar replacing most of the violins from the first one.

This one actually was catchy when I heard it today. It has a little bit of synthy music in the background but it works. There are lyrics in this one so that is good, I guess. But I guess walking on a dream has to have that upbeat feeling.

I was going to post a couple more but realized I just ran out of cigarettes and need to run and get some more. Don’t worry as I said there are always new songs being made and posted on the internet for everyone to have, and not put into a queue for some record executive to decide when it will be given out.

Start off with a song

I was doing my normal browsing of elbo.ws. I came across a song called “Bruce Willis is Dead” now knowing he was not dead, but having to make sure. I went searching for Bruce Willis. Nope, Bruce Willis is not dead. So what does this song mean? No idea, it’s just catchy.
