President Obama…

Hopefully having the new president will at least bring a different experience than we have experienced for the last 8 years. To think before I started college was when George W. Bush became president and started to tear this country down.

Just another…say WHAT?

Friday, October 10th, 2008 | just something random | No Comments

Well, it was brought to my attention that the title of my blog  is not unique and is nearly the same as the default Wordpress tagline (Just another Wordpress weblog). I didn’t steal it. I had the same name for when I used textpattern (another blog) and if you check their default tag line it doesn’t start with “Just another”. So now I am in a bind, do I change the name to “random random thoughts” or leave it as “just another random thought” and take the heat if it looks like I stole it.

Again I didn’t steal it, I came up with it on my own…damn.

Do you belive in Gosh?

Well, do you remember a comedian who used to give one-liner jokes. I saw him live when he came up to Central Michigan University to do a show. Here’s a hint…

“An escalator can never break: it can only become stairs. You should never see an Escalator Temporarily Out Of Order sign, just Escalator Temporarily Stairs. Sorry for the convenience.”

It is Mitch Hedberg who will be releasing a new full-length cd with new unheard of jokes from beyond the grave. He is Tupac without the music.

Fast and the Furious 4…JLB Motorsports?

Saturday, August 30th, 2008 | just something random | No Comments

Well, I play the game MGO and our leader has some of his customer’s cars being used within the new movie, Fast and the Furious 4.

He gave out banners for the windshield of the cars in one of those scenes with cars in the background, so look out during those parts for JLB Motorsports.

If you haven’t seen it then here is the HD trailer.

Do not drink and drive

Pics or it didn’t happen is what this will turn into, but oh well it did.

I needed to get some food. Best place to go for that is Meijer. Since I haven’t been on Hall road that much since I’ve moved to Royal Oak. I thought “Hey, why not go to that one? Get some food, go for a nice drive.” It was a nice drive until I finished the roundabout on 18 Mile and Van Dyke to get onto M-53. Starting to head north on M-53, I see some blue/red lights on smoke in the sky. “Now that is strange,” I thought.  Getting over the hill I see now that there are 2 police cars, one on each side of M-53, and a TREE is on fire in the median. I am not talking about a little flame, this tree was fully on fire. This tree had a shadow on it, which as I pull closer and find out that a truck (Dodge Ram 1500 or F-150, couldn’t tell) facing north on the south side of M-53 is on top of the tree, the cab and engine burning out of control. First thought I had was take a picture, if the cops weren’t there then yes I would have tried to help instead of thinking of a picture. I didn’t get my phone out in time before I passed the cop car so the next best thing was to go to Jaycee Park, which was just off to the side of M-53. What I believe happened was someone was drunk, got on the south side of M-53, saw a car headed right at them, freaked out and swerved into the tree. They had some ambulances when I got there later so I believe whoever was in the car survived.

Now on to the next part where I try to get a good picture from the side of the road.

Well as I headed to the park, it took 5 minutes, and another 5 minutes to navigate to the other side of the baseball fields in the dark with just the cell phone as a light. With the police lights and firetrucks in the distance I trucked on. By the time I got there they already had a tow truck pulling the extingushed truck onto the bed. I was too late and my phone storage was full.

Lessons Learned:

  1. Always have your phone handy, especially in the car.
  2. Always keep your storage on your phone empty.
  3. Drunk driver, if you survived, don’t drink and drive.
